In The Community

Stay connected with our vibrant presence in the local area. Follow us as we participate in community events, share our stories of giving back, and highlight opportunities for involvement. Whether it’s lending a helping hand at events or joining us in our outreach efforts, there are countless ways to be a part of our mission. Together, let’s make a positive impact and foster a stronger, more compassionate community.

"Dementia Live" Library Tour

This program is designed to educate community members on the impact of dementia, what it feels like for a person to experience dementia, and offer simple but actionable strategies to improve communication and interactions with a loved one who has dementia. The program has two sessions. In one session participants are provided a gear pack that includes special glasses and headphones that mimic symptoms of dementia. Then, the facilitator sets them up with various tasks to complete. The second session is a conversation style presentation on strategies to use when communicating with a person who has dementia. The strategies cover areas of visual support, offering choices, emotions, and human connection.
The Dementia Live program is presented by or nonprofit Hospice of Southwest Ohio Foundation. Our goal is to promote a mission of living well, aging well, and dying well through community outreach, education, family grief support, and other services.
